Palisade Investment Partners has recently acquired the 240MW/960MWh Summerfield Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) located near Adelaide, South Australia.
This significant transaction marks a strategic enhancement of the region's renewable energy infrastructure.

The Summerfield project, originally developed by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), is a lithium-ion battery storage system designed to provide four hours of energy storage capacity. CIP had managed all development workstreams since acquiring the project in 2022, with construction commencing in February 2025. The project is now nearing completion, with energisation expected in May 2026 and commercial operations slated for late 2026.

By acquiring the Summerfield BESS, Palisade Investment Partners aims to bolster South Australia's energy storage capabilities, contributing to grid stability and supporting the integration of renewable energy sources. This move aligns with broader efforts to transition towards a more sustainable and resilient energy system.

The acquisition underscores the growing interest and investment in energy storage solutions within Australia. As the nation continues to embrace renewable energy, projects like Summerfield play a crucial role in ensuring a reliable and efficient power supply.

For stakeholders in the energy sector, this development highlights the importance of strategic investments in infrastructure that support the evolving energy landscape. It also reflects confidence in the potential of battery energy storage systems to address challenges associated with renewable energy integration.

The Reserve Bank’s latest decision to keep the cash rate unchanged extends the period of watchful stability for Australian borrowers, including households weighing up a new or used boat purchase. Rather, a steadier cash rate gives buyers a clearer window to assess affordability, compare lender appetite and decide whether now is the right time to move from browsing to serious negotiations. - read more

Fresh marine market search commentary suggests Australian boating interest remains resilient, even as buyers become more selective about price, model choice and the total cost of ownership. Movements in the Australian dollar are becoming another factor for boat buyers to watch, particularly for shoppers looking at imported vessels, outboard engines, electronics, trailers and specialist accessories. While currency markets can feel distant from a weekend runabout or family cruiser, exchange rate changes can influence the landed cost of marine products long before they appear on a showroom invoice. - read more
